Dr. Rob McNeill — Professional Development Workshop
Dr. Rob McNeill was raised in Laurelton, Queens, New York — where his father Robert Sr. ran Neill's Limousine on a guarantee of personal accountability ("If we are late, you don't pay") and his mother Rosa worked as a state nurse for 30 years. Two operating systems running under one roof: entrepreneurship and endurance. Both installed themselves into his DNA.
Educated at two HBCUs — Morgan State University and Texas Southern University — Dr. Rob earned his PhD in Sociology (Business Management concentration) from Texas Woman's University, driving Houston to Denton every week for three years while working full-time. His dissertation, "Three the Hard Way," studied how African American women entrepreneurs construct and perform their professional identities using Butler's Theory of Performativity.
Over 26 years, he built 9 businesses across 9 different industries — every single one while holding a full-time job. He originated mortgages, taught at American InterContinental University, performed stand-up comedy, co-founded a streetwear brand rooted in Queens hip-hop culture, authored three books, and coached 750+ professionals. On March 11, 2026, he left his City of Houston career and went full-time into his companies.
He didn't quit and hope. He built the runway, built the brands, built the pipeline — and then walked away on his own terms. That's not a motivational story. That's a system he now teaches professionals to replicate.
“Robert’s rebuilding started with his body. The job might have been slow, but his schedule was not. He began waking up at three in the morning to work out before reporting to his government post at seven. At first, it was about losing weight. Then it became something deeper. The discipline of exercise was a physical statement of control. Each morning rep said, ‘You do not own my spirit.’ Within a year, he had lost sixty pounds and gained back a sense of pride that bureaucracy could never give him.”
The structure that helped him lose sixty pounds became the structure that built EWJ — and ultimately the freedom to leave on his own terms on March 11, 2026.

Queens. HBCU. PhD. 9 businesses. Dr. Rob didn't become what his zip code predicted — and he teaches students how to use where they're from as fuel, not an excuse. This is the talk that changes the room.
28 years of formal education across a 44-year span. Two operating systems inherited from two parents. Nine businesses across nine industries. One decision on March 11, 2026.
Co-founded with LT Thomas, Golden Age Drip is Queens-born streetwear rooted in the late 80s and early 90s hip-hop era. Every piece is a cultural artifact — apparel, wall art, and accessories that honor where the grind began.
Dr. Rob creates original music rooted in his Queens upbringing and hip-hop culture — because entrepreneurship isn't just about business plans. It's about expressing who you are across every medium you touch.
