Dr. Rob McNeill is a Houston-based speaker on emotional intelligence — the scholar, coach, and conglomerate CEO who teaches working people how to live many lives without losing themselves in any of them.
Dr. Rob McNeill is a speaker on emotional intelligence whose work helps everyday professionals build income, identity, and freedom — all without quitting their day job. He is the CEO of a conglomerate that spans residential mortgage lending, business coaching, streetwear, and book publishing. Dr. Rob holds a PhD in Sociology with a concentration in Business Management from Texas Woman's University, earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees at Texas Southern University, and started his academic journey at Morgan State University — a Laurelton, Queens native with deep HBCU roots. He currently serves as adjunct professor at American Intercontinental University, is a Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths Coach, and a Certified Professional Life Coach.
He has trained more than 750 employees in a single program with an 87.7 NPS, delivered over 1,300 one-on-one coaching sessions, and co-authored three books with his partner Lisa McNeill, including Surviving The Job You Hate. Whether the room is a boardroom, a classroom, or a community center, Dr. Rob brings the same message: you can build a life you love without burning down the one you have.
Dr. Rob McNeill is a Houston-based speaker, coach, and CEO whose work centers on a single idea: emotional intelligence is the real skill behind every professional who builds wealth, carries culture, and lives many lives without losing themselves in any of them. He spent twelve years proving this in his own life — originating residential mortgages by night while serving as a training coordinator for the City of Houston by day — before taking his business full-time in March 2026.
Today Dr. Rob leads a conglomerate that spans four worlds: residential mortgage lending as "The Loan Doctor" (licensed in 48 states), business coaching through Morgan York Consulting, Golden Age Drip — a streetwear line he co-founded with LT Thomas that pays tribute to the late-80s and early-90s era of hip-hop that shaped him — and a publishing catalog of three co-authored books with his partner, Lisa McNeill. His flagship book, Surviving The Job You Hate, speaks directly to the working adult who knows there is more out there but is not yet sure how to reach it.
Dr. Rob holds a PhD in Sociology with a concentration in Business Management from Texas Woman's University, both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas Southern University — one of Houston's premier HBCUs — and started his academic journey at Morgan State University, the HBCU in Baltimore where TTC (Tenacious, Talented, Capable) was founded on October 3, 1991. He currently serves as an adjunct professor at American Intercontinental University, teaching Student Professional and Academic Success. He is a Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths Coach, a Certified Professional Life Coach, and has delivered more than 1,300 documented coaching sessions. Inside the City of Houston, he built and ran an accreditation program that trained over 750 employees to an 87.7 Net Promoter Score — a number rarely seen in adult education.
His story is Queens-raised, HBCU-tested, and Houston-refined. He speaks with the warmth of a pastor, the precision of a scholar, and the edge of a man who grew up on hip-hop from Sugar Hill Gang to Nas. Audiences book him because he can hold a room full of mortgage brokers, a class of first-generation college students, and a church of weary workers — and leave every one of them with a plan they can start Monday.
Dr. Rob lives in Houston with his partner Lisa and their family. He believes the culture and the credential belong in the same sentence — and spends his days proving it.
